Due to current supply constraints and overwhelming demand, it may take 2 to 4 weeks to receive your free D-Box. Please be patient as we work hard to get it to you!

If you received a confirmation email, our team has received your request. You don’t need to put in another request to be sure you’ll get a box, doing so actually slows down our process. Our team will reach out regarding the status of your D-Box request as it gets processed.

Our D-Box requests are all lovingly processed, assembled, and labeled by hand. Due to our volume of requests and available personnel, we often utilize volunteers in our community to help us keep up with making enough boxes to fill demand. This is part of what makes our turnaround time longer than the commercialized standards our society has come to expect. We appreciate your patience as we work to get your D-Box to you as soon as we can.

D-Box contents are curated with new diabetics in mind, with resources about introductory topics such as carb counting, typical symptoms, T1D technology, and other forms of diabetic community and resources. These are meant to serve as a consolidated way for newly diagnosed people to navigate a very overwhelming disease. Due to the introductory nature of the materials within the D-Box, they are meant for and sent to people who are still within a year of diagnosis. We offer differentiated boxes with materials designed for adults and youth (18> years old) as well as materials written in Spanish.

Due to the cost of shipping and materials, we are unable to send boxes to people past this cutoff point. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are past this cutoff and still think you would benefit from these resources, there is a Digital D-Box with available downloads of the materials included in the physical box, which can be requested here. Many people find these resources helpful, but if there is anything specific you are looking for please reach out to us at outreach@touchedbytype1.org.

Unfortunately, due to additional shipping and customs costs that come with international shipping, we are unable to ship outside of the country. We do have a Digital D-Box with virtual versions of materials included in the physical box, which can be requested here.

If we would otherwise be able to send you a box but haven’t, there might be a problem with the mailing address. Please check your email for correspondence from us trying to resolve this issue. All requests are saved in a database and our system recognizes if someone has already requested and received a box from us. In some instances, we understand more than one individual in a household might be diagnosed within a year’s time and in these cases a special box is made to accommodate the circumstance. Otherwise, due to the costly nature of materials and shipping and our nature as a nonprofit, we are unable to fill duplicitous requests. Thank you for your understanding.

Due to the nature of our status as a nonprofit, many of the materials in the D-Box are acquired on a donation basis. We are extremely thankful to diabetic organizations for their willingness to work with us, trusting us to disseminate their information and materials to those who will benefit from it. With that in mind, like any other organization, we are constantly affected by the tides of supply and demand. Due to these forces, as well as changing relationships with suppliers and space in our box, we cannot guarantee that every box will have the exact same contents. If there is a brand in particular you were looking forward to seeing in your box that was missing, we are happy to direct you to spaces where you can interact with them.
