“Triumph through Trial” with Kyle Banks
Hear from actor and singer Kyle Banks as he shares about his experience being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as an adult while performing with the traveling Broadway production of Disney’s, The Lion King. He’ll discuss how the introduction of insulin while performing nightly in a high energy production resulted in multiple dangerous hypoglycemic episodes, but with the help of diabetes technology he was able to turn things around and safely continue working at the pace in which he was accustomed.

Small Steps, Big Results
Join us Tuesday, June 29, as we hear from Dr. Anna Casu from the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute for Metabolism and Diabetes. Dr. Casu is an Associate Investigator at the institute with a focus on Type 1 Diabetes research. Her career has centered on T1D epidemiology, prediction, pathogenic mechanisms, and applying advanced therapies to improve quality of life, outcomes and a final cure. Dr. Casu has also been living with Type 1 Diabetes herself for more than 40 years.
