He’ll discuss how the introduction of insulin while performing nightly in a high energy production resulted in multiple dangerous hypoglycemic episodes, but with the help of diabetes technology he was able to turn things around and safely continue working at the pace in which he was accustomed.

About Kyle Banks:
Kyle R Banks is an actor and singer who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as an adult while performing with the traveling production of Disney’s, The Lion King. His dream of performing nightly for sold out audiences across the country turned into a nightmare as he began to suffer the effects of frequent low blood glucose episodes. Everything turned around for the better once a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) was suggested to him. Kyle says, “I know from personal experience how transforming these devices can be for those living with Type 1 Diabetes. Insulin pumps and CGMs save lives and they help to reduce the risk of developing the many horrific side effects associated with this disease.” It is Kyle’s desire to assist as many individuals and families as he can toward the road of health and wellness which is why he set up the Kyler Cares foundation, which provides grants for CGMs and insulin pumps for children and young adults living with Type 1 Diabetes.
